New 2016 Dodge Durango at Junction Auto Sales for Chardon, OH
If you've been seeking a reliable family vehicle with raw power and better handling than the average crossover, without sacrificing passenger connectivity access, entertainment options or ride comfort, the 2016 Dodge Durango is here for you. An already capable V-6 engine is there with established best in class capacity, but if you need more, a V-8 is also available. There's 50+ seat configurations including optional Captain's chairs, there's filled out options packages on all trims, there's 4WD and low-range gearing for, you know, actual work that a vehicle like this can certainly still do. Plus, there's a Sport version and all-wheel drive available on all models! For 2016, engine stop-start technology is now standard on models powered by a V-6 engine, for improved fuel efficiency. Four all-new exterior colors available for 2016: Red Pearl, Luxury Brown, Light Brownstone and Ivory Pearl Tri-coat. If you are used to a truck or SUV for hard work, and don't want to switch down to something way too lightweight for trips with friends and family on weekends, the V-8 engine Durango makes a great case for itself for those times when you just need the strength and dependability of a powerful and capable vehicle.
Under the Durango's Hood
Durango's standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine generates 290 horsepower (295 horsepower on Rallye, Blacktop Package and Citadel) and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The V-6 engine allows the Durango to tow a best-in-class 6,200 pounds. The 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine produces a best-in-class 360 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque with another best-in-class tow rating of 7,400 pounds. The 5.7-liter HEMI engine also has an active Fuel Saver Technology feature. There is a standard eight-speed automatic transmission that achieves 15 percent better fuel economy than the prior transmission, with rotary shifter and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters also on all models. The four-wheel independent suspension, used in conjunction with the Durango's close to 50/50 weight distribution, gives a solid driving feel and responsiveness. The Durango has a standard rear-wheel-drive-based drivetrain but also has an available all-wheel drive (AWD) for both engines. It also features an Eco Mode to maximize fuel economy. ESS technology increases fuel efficiency by shutting the engine off (but leaves the cabin constantly powered) when the vehicle stops.
