Under the Renegade's Hood
The engines available for the model come in two options. The base engine is a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder. This engine is standard on the Sport and Latitude. It produces 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a six-speed manual transmission. The other engine option is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder. It produces 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. It gets a nine-speed automatic transmission. Any trim with any engine can have four-wheel drive or front-wheel drive, but the Trailhawk only comes with four-wheel drive. The 4WD system on the Trailhawk has an enhanced off-road gearing and an extra drive more. When a Renegade with the top engine and four-wheel drive has the Trailer Tow package it can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

The Renegade offers four trims: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk.
