Creating a Gas Budget

Depending on the type of vehicle you drive, it is inevitable that you will have to spend money on gas. Some vehicles require more gas than others and are definitely budgeted differently.

How can one stay on a gas budget to get from A to B every day? Since gas prices are always changing, making note of these changes will help you going forward. First, what is your average cost of gas per month? If you are able to make a cushion for gas money (with gas costs changing from time to time), you will be able to manage your gas usage more effectively.

How much driving do you do each month? If you are able to track your mileage to gas costs, this will also keep you organized and budgeted. This may be hard to do, but try to avoid extra trips. Only use your vehicle according to your schedule. This will help you stay on a budget that you are able to manage on a monthly basis.

For freeway driving, try using the cruise control. This is great for gas mileage!
